Anaphor – repetition of a word
Anaphor is the repetition of a word. It is also the use of pronoun that refers backwards to what was previously said or written.
And a “fore!” (anaphor) was repeated by each golfer as they teed off.
Examples
Repetition of word:
Every day, every night, in every way, I am getting better and better.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
Pronoun referring backwards:
Peel and slice six potatoes. Put them in cold water. (Using the word “them” avoids having to repeat “potatoes).
