Volume of cones

Cones

The volume of a cone works on area of the base multiplied by height and some factor.

To measure a cone you need to multiply base and height then multiply another factor

Area of base = πr2

Volume of cone = 13×volume of a cylinder

Volume of cone = 13×Area of base× height

Volume of cone = 13×πr2× height

3 cones make a cylinder if you add them up

3 cones fill 1 cylinder (with the same size base and height).

NOTE:

Areas shaded blue are all equal.
