Keith Haring Art Project

Creating artwork in the style of Keith Haring is easy and fun. 

Draw a rough sketch of a person in an energetic pose, then draw the same pose, but broken down into very basic shapes.

Next, with a thick black marker, draw around the outline, adding in some motion lines.

Colour your figure in with one bright colour.

For the backgrounds, Keith Haring had three distinct styles:

One solid colour.

Two colours. The ground colour would usually have dots covering it.

Or black lines and shapes densely covering the background of the image, but not touching the figure.

Finally, if you have time, using the same technique, add several people to one shot.
